one mistake early blows entire trade - not stopping at least partial but given the tiny float and amount of volume traded, plus SSR, full stop better - I force myself to cover highs and cant be aggressive re-trading it. Stop out full lessens initial loss and can re-short break of $8.20 on backside. Not good.

Hey Andy, are you talking about patterns on the daily chart or intraday? Intraday, I def trade flags and pennants and they fall in my momentum bucket. I'm so bad trading opening drives that I tend to stay away. I prefer waiting first 15mins and then looking for edge with setups i'm more comfortable with. If you have an opening drive strategy that is high probability and works well for you would love to try and learn.

I was more referring to the intraday price action, and got it okay, wasn't aware that they were apart of your momentum category tags, and some tech stocks such as good ole tesla used to have very nice PMH breakouts near the open then used to have ORB breakouts, then for a few weeks recently, would have a strict dip off the open and rip setup when trending in premarket or after a gap up, but many of those setups arent as common and who knows if you can trade those setups with the split now, but was curious as sometimes I go through your trades and some of them make sense to me and then some tags with momentum I wasn't aware some of them were pattern break momentum kind of trades, but was mostly curious, thanks dpaleo !
Roger that. Yea maybe I should get more specific on momo type trades if I start to trade that more. You are def right regarding TSLA off open. I certainly have noticed over the years the momo setups off open as well as the dip and rip setup. Feels like those happen consistently in waves. I bet a little backtesting can uncover a significant edge there if can figure out the factors that lead to each.

Hey dpaleo, I've noticed many of your trades are tagged as fades. momentum plays, news play and or a bottom tick?. Do you ever have trades where you are trading a pattern breakout such as a pennant or flag breakout? Do you have ideas on trading opening drives on certain stocks? Do you ever tag trades as a bid / offer hold if you take a trade setup such as that? - Is it just that you have edge in trading around fading stocks, trading momentum and news plays? Maybe I haven't seen this on your shared trades yet but it doesn't seem like you trade opening drives or patterns breakout or like a moving average bounce if a stock is trending along the 21ema for example, curious on that.
