First day back trading. No homework done, was trying to finish my trading plan but my start date was the beginning of May. Got the idea for this trade from Nathan Michaud on Twitter. Thought NUGT was a red to green and AG & GDX, the two other stocks he called out had very similar charts. On second thought, figured it might have been a Rubberband short after >3 up days and that's what it was but I figured it out too late and missed the morning flush. An ok entry. Size was puny cause but I still went bigger than I should have. Limited it to conform to my trading plan. Risking 2% of my trading $10,000 account i.e. $200 divided by $25 = 8 shares. Ok, now that I'm calculating it, since I shorted 100 shares, I Actually risked 25% of my portfolio. Holy Crap. Ok, Now I see how easy it is for us newbies to blow out our accounts. Well, I made a gain, though small $34, but definitely not worth risking 1/4 of my account for, so I will try hard not to do this again & remember I am practising for Skill right now not $. At least I considered risk-adjusted share size.
