Today this A has earning report. And it gap up.
So I'm looking to a ORB.And set my stop under VWAP.
Approximately at 44.84
But suddenly, without any sign, the price go straight down to 24.60 within a second.
I'm shocked because it's actually a tight spread stock and has decent volume.
After a moment it hit 44.50(the opening range low) I'm immediately out in case of something bad happen.
I still don't know how to deal with this situation next time.

Good setup that just didn't work. As for reducing slippage, I think all you can do is adjust position size to account for it. You know mornings are about price discovery and highly volatile, so you have to anticipate fast moves.
