ADBE Trade on Sep 15, 2022 09:30 from JRockTrades: Tradervue User Stock Trades.

I could file this under the got lucky heading, but I will take it nonetheless.

Adobe announced they were acquiring Figma in a $20BN deal that made very little sense to the street. You can tell by how swift and severe the reaction was. I watched in the Pre-Market as price just kept dropping with little to no retracement (and hence no entries). I've seen these situations, as in NFLX last earnings, where the news is so bad the selling seems to have no end. Price moved below 325 before the open. I thought if it spiked back to that area on the open, I could take a short.

I will admit this was very very risky with w much ADBE was moving. I was hoping to get stopped out for only $1 if that happened, but it might be very hard to actually limit my losses to that level. This could very well have been a case of not knowing my total risk being so close to the open. In the end none of it mattered because price didn't even move 10 cents against me before moving several dollars in my favor.

I was very quick to take off the trade. I wasn't the cleanest with my executions as I tried to cover some shares close to 320, but wasn't fast enough. When it's this early in the morning I'm not thinking about extended moves, but instead on getting in and back out. I covered most in the 320's and then put a break even stop on the last few shares, which got taken out. This was my only trade in ADBE as it would have been very easy to give back that profit with it moving so much. I decided that was my big risk for the day and moved on to other tickers where I could control it better.

All in, this was under 2 minutes and a stellar way to start my best session of the year. I will admit to some burnout recently and trades like this are the cure to that. A bit of luck found me today and that's just fine.
