REASON TO ENTER: Though NUGT opened up and popped...I had written in my trade plan to short NUGT around $114.'s/$115.'s level...as it was a level of previous resistance. I stuck with that plan
RISK: My stop was .45/ per share total risk $67.50... above my entry which was based on the low of the opening candle and the increase volume to the down side indicated to me more strength to the down side.
REASON TO SELL: Support level from prior 2 days was holding and associated (DOWN) volume had dropped dramatically.....NUGT can turn on a dime...it was my decision...to take my gain and exit the trade.
I had a similar trade in TSLA that worked in much the same way.
Once NUGT broke it broke quickly and clean...there was not a lot of volatility in the trade...the increased volume associated with the sudden decline in price made it a bit easier to manage than most other trades..... the decrease in volume and associated price movement was likened to a down pour and then a sudden break of clouds and clear sky. How often does that happen in trading?...not very.
