No significantly moving stock in premarket
- One of those stocks you watch on choppy days.
- ETB, ATR: $3.10, MC, Max shares: 90 @ .50R.
Open
- Watching on the open and looked strong took are strong reversal and engulfed the previous bull candles on the 5 min chart to what seemed to be a strong breakdown of the VWAP.
Trade 1: Took first entry very close to the VWAP anticipating the break but candle ended on a doji and several 1 min consolidation candles of equal size, was hard to tell what side it wanted to move to, stop loss was at 112.65, 43 cents higher than my entry, I stopped out 10 cents earlier on the 1 min chart breaking the consolidation pattern. Saved 10c off my stop loss.
Reflection
- I remember telling myself I would NOT scale in if it did not break past the VWAP on lower high/low 1 min candles confirming my initial entry. So kept my discipline and waited for the trade to resolve but it didn't and I lost out a couple bucks, not bad and some good risk management.
- Had good reason to short on both charts, didnt go my way and its okay.
- My job is to manage my risk and not be right! Way to remember this.
