Nothing attention grabbing moving in premarket
- One of those stocks you watch on quiet days.
Open
- Was looking at the 5 min candles and 1 min candles that were forming. Seemed very bullish on the break of the VWAP. Took a long position.
Trade 1: First entry at quick break of the VWAP, second entry the minute after and third entry on the pull back. Trade rejected immediately after the last entry and I stopped out early. On the singular large 1 min candle shooting down towards the VWAP.
Reflection
- I'm naturally a very cautious person and now that I'm looking at it, I don't like the look of entering a trade immediately right after the 5-10 min opening range without the first two 5 min candles supporting each other. I think the indicator is much more powerful if both candles at the open are bullish or bearish not both.
- The entries at the open were way too hasty. I should take more precaution trading the open by not scaling in completely right away or not scaling completely at all in time frames close to the open. I was full position in a matter of 4 minutes.
- Did what I could to manage my risk but stopping myself out 20c earlier, but the best risk management would have been to not scale in completely at the open and follow my strategy guide.
