CVO Trade on Aug 22, 2013 09:42 from mirko_BOWS: Tradervue User Stock Trades.

$CVO was gapping up premarket so I waited for an intraday setup and entered the trade at the flat top breakout, at least what I saw there. But the breakout did not happen, it was just a small pop and stock went downwards so I basically entered the trade with a minimal loss.

Were you using 1 min data? odd place to enter based on 5 min chart. I was also watching this stock. never found a spot for entry. If pattern is too rough, best to let it go

Your first sell looked like the place to enter to me as that was the apex of the flag.

Yeah, I did but still you are correct. This wasn't a good setup to enter the trade for sure.

Thanks for the feedback man, you are correct and it was my mistake. I exited the trade once I saw the breakout is not coming but as I sold off my position it popped a bit but only like 5 cents.

Overall, it was a poor execution on my side, it really helps to look at the trade from another perspective and your comments guys really help. Appreciate it!

Before 10:30am i prefer to use 1 min chart. There, you will see nice flag support pattern breakout. I manage to have Short entry at 9:37 for 10 cents quick scalp gain.

To be honest I was thinking on using 1min chart for those gappers and opening range breakouts intraday setups in those which happen so fast and 5 mins is a long period in such cases. Will try and see how it goes!
