stock had been parabolic on the daily with oversold stochastics (90s) and had run into resistance on the daily the day before. I figure it would reverse today for the reasons above. before closing the day before, the intraday price mad a m top pattern then bear flagged at the close. At the open today, that bear flag was broken and I shorted thinking the reversal was in progress. I was wrong a was stopped out of my position soon after.
