- This was actually one of the better, technical trades I took today. The reason I was able to take sooner entries is because the levels were showing very positive indication and at the time had already moved very past my initial entries. The biggest fail of this trade was the emotional barrier I was feeling from the previous trades that morning that was keeping me from profiting from the moves that the stock had done. I wanted a BIGGER win to of set the loss from the morning.
Reflection
- 3 indicators? Yes, first entry called for.
- Scaling? Yes, second entry called for and third entry called for based on the levels it had broken and volume it was doing in the moment. Additional minor entries on positive retraction retest moves that were showing on the 1 min chart and lower level it was forming on the 5 minute chart. The price action ultimately broke down and broke down to the 114 level which was an area of resistance in the morning where it had broken to the upside, this would have been a good target but I was blinded by the potential for a LOD break and lower target. I was really reaching for MORE than what the levels were showing in the moment.
- Partials?All out on the sideways levels breaking to the upside on the 1 minute chart.
- Risk management? tight stops since the price action had broken down pretty strongly.
- What went right/wrong? Trade idea was fine, I kept myself from having a successful trade here by adhering too much to my emotions and not the technical levels of the market in that moment.
- Successful trade? No. My emotions drove this trade.
