The next trade was a losing scalp continuation setup on FTFT. The stock looked great for a 5-minute bull flag setup, for the first 5-minute candle to make a new high, but it failed to resolve. Another frustrating aspect of this trade was that I tried to stop out 7.00, but my orders were not filling on the Bid, and so I stopped out with 8 cents extra losses. I lost $73.96 in net realized losses on this trade.

This is all part of the light holiday volume trading we have been seeing these past two weeks. I have to take into consideration the amount of slippage I can get when stopping out of stocks in market trading with light volume.

I tried taking this trade on two other 1-minute setups that actually resolved but failed to get filled on them. I received a "No Cross Trades" message on my montage windows and asked Suretrader about what that was. They did not answer with a satisfactory response and to this day I still do not know what that means.

The good part about this day was that you only lost half of what you made on Friday, making your P&L between the two days decent.

Consider putting a 2 cent offset on your hotkey limit orders. Let's see what 2018 has in store for momentum. For now, trade as you usually do, conservative and with an eye to risk.

not knocking you ...this looks like my trades .. i too use sure-trader, i found that it looks like you chased the entry (market) fill and the error (with) hot keys may have been if the ticker symbol wasn't blue (maybe) . i say this because i have been on the loosing side of their (program) too many times . i refunded (again) on fri 12/29/17,. i sat back and watched trade-ideas and warrior trading ,patric weiland (you tube), and a bit of tim sykes on the side, focused on watt planing short positions (would have worked) . good trading karma to in 2018 ! thank you for the post .. i am also new to tradervue. and a 1 yr trader. again good trading to you

Thanks for the comment. I was actually trying to go for the first 5-minute candle to make a new high on a bull flag pattern from a stock that was continuing its move from previous days. I always use limit orders for my hotkeys. It even made a decent volume push upon my entry on the 1-minute, but even high probability setups like these can fail to resolve. I was not quick enough to sell on the way down and took a greater loss than I should have.
