Huge momo runner on the morning, waited for P/B on low volume and 20MA to catch up. Stop -.10, T +.25, +.40. Ran +.15 and looked solid, didn't take any off (hindsight should have taken 1/4 off at 1.5 Reward to Risk). As was running moved stop to B/E to take off risk, got stopped on P/B to VWAP!
Work on: Need to work on the difference between a healthy retest of B/O area and a stock that is just rolling.

Execution detail:

Date/time Symbol Side Price Position
2013-10-31 11:17:59 GTI buy $9.390 long
2013-10-31 11:39:06 GTI sell $9.380 0

Good work on catching the break of flag, tough break on it retesting.

good entry point.. not a bad trade. just bad luck on getting stopped out. I like your discipline on the sell tho. Its a must :)

Thanks MB, but would you agree not good stop placement as intraday support was right under? I'm noticing many times (hindsight of course) that my stop is at the wrong place and not allowing wiggle room or a retest of support.

Perfect entry. Personally I don't think your stop was bad Volume was pretty heavy in the candle you exited. Better to take it off flat and revisit if you're wrong. I'd rather pay $10 in commission and be wrong as it's much easier to justify re-entry after that. If you take a $100 loss and then find out you're wrong, it's much harder to justify re-entry emotionally. You can take $10 losses all day long and hit one $300 trade and boom, you're positive for the day.

I agree Chris however i find most often then not when i raise my stop due to fear of loss (and no other reason), many times i get stopped but then it rips ($STXS most recent painful example) and i feel after the bounce i'd be chasing. The few times it does roll to max pain, that was what i originally was risking. Still trying to figure out when to keep original stop and when to tighten.
