Took position on a dip as it had a weak trend in the afternoon. Risk was 15.93. As it closed I moved the risk up to the closing price. Goal was to sell last shares at 17.00ish. Locked half pre-market at 16.73. Held the rest until the open, although it hit my target at 17.00 pre-market. Thought I could use some real-time practice and held to the open. Had to the cut in the morning, and managed to hit dead bottom, before it spiked nicely in the morning.
Lesson 1: Always stick to plan.
Lesson 2: Give a stock room to pull back the first 5 minutes of the day, unless it clearly has to gap up, in order to follow trend. Play with a bit wider risk.
