Decent trading today but could have been better. First and only trade was on TWTR: Went in with Ed to short when it re-tested opening range low after ALKS didn’t show promise.

We noticed a lot of big buyers at the 28 level, institutional trades and funds trading against each other, according to Ed.

When it tried making another move down, and when it went back up over 28, I stopped out at 27.99. Ed, however, held for much longer, waiting instead for it to give a shot before claiming technicals. He ended up stopping out a few cents above 28. Closed the day for a small $28.42 net profit on 350 shares.

Let trade close above/below technicals before deciding to stop out
If it has a good chance to make it to profit target, let it run
Be patient when in trade, and stay calm.

Around 10:40 AM PST, a negative Citron tweet came out on W. We missed the move below its opening range low, but we got in for a bounce. I missed Ed’s entry, but I ended up getting in short at a better cost average than he did. There was a lot of potential on this stock, with a multi-point window to the downside. We had to hold this one for longer because of the choppiness of the market, I held this one for just over an hour.

It was on a downtrend, but, as Ed said, we have not been having clean, defined moves in day trades lately. Once it rose above the 9ema on the 5-minute, Ed took it off, and so did I.

So, this trade, technically did not work as we expected, but I still grossed $37.85.
Closed the day now with $56.37 in net profits.

This is amazing. You have 100% accuracy on a day that was supposed to be choppy, where your trades didn’t actually do as intended. That’s because you’re not paying much in commissions anymore, and benefiting from the larger dollar-range windows of opportunity. Contrast that with your small-cap strategy!
