An ugly loss today on CLDR. This stock sold off pre-market on a weak forecast

You made about $30 on your first trade of 200 shares as it popped back up to VWAP, on its way to make another 52-week low. This was not an opening range trade but a trend to a new low.

The next trade was the opening range breakdown trade, where you made a slight mistake
On your ToS charts, you had the ATR window too big for you to see that it had already made a 5-period ATR of about 50 cents. The ATR looked like it had about 30 cents, so you went in with 300 shares thinking you could give it a max loss of $90 if you were wrong, when you should have taken 200 shares.

Ed stopped out too prematurely on this trade as it broke the 9 ema before it closed for a technical stop above that level. I still stayed.

I had to stop out on a hard stop at $14.00, filled at $14.06. This puts me down $166.22 on the day.
Took another trade on CLDR when it looked like it was rejecting 20 ema on 5-minute to make a new low below the previous candle. I really just followed Ed, to be frank. He got in prematurely when he thought it broke below the previous low, but it didn’t.

I’m now down $236.20, which puts my equity below $1,500 at $1481.11, very disappointing. Gave back all my gains this week.

The lessons:
Don’t follow Ed
The stock was still in its opening range when it bounced off 20ema
This was a choppy market, and to be expected, but you lost too much today
You lost too much because you calculated risk incorrectly on your second CLDR trade because of a wrong ATR number, pay closer attention next time
Overtraded a bit – as we speak, Ed is thinking of taking a long again on this trade, but he is overtrading at this point.
I can’t afford to take more trades at this point.
