This trade would have worked out perfectly without the add. The proper way to add to this trade would have been to wait for a pull back to confirm (pullback, push up, pull back and form a higher low). With that, I'd have a defined risk; instead, I added and simply moved my stop up to break even. If I'm not going to add to a position methodically, I'm better off just keeping my low average and letting the remaining shares ride.
If you wouldn't open a new position at the current price level/action, don't add to it.
