This trade killed my morale. I had a great opportunity to scale out 1/2 at 32.25 but I consciously decided to wait until it dips lower. Rather than having my stop order in place, I had a limit order for my first scale out. This was a terrible mistake. I ended up losing 2x my max risk.
The most redeeming thing is that I didn't freeze up and I placed an order quickly when AER suddenly reversed. The reversal happened within 15 seconds. It was scary to see.
Always have your automatic stop in place.

I find gap ups to new highs very difficult to short.
