LM Trade on Dec 20, 2013 12:32 from johnc_BOWS: Tradervue User Stock Trades.

Looked like it couldn't clear 9ema and 43.70. Also looked fairly overbought on the daily... however, I misinterpreted the previous day's candle as a doji. (It's not).

It didn't move much. This stock has a small range on most days, but its pullbacks can be as much as 1.50. I'm gonna flag this again for tomorrow.

2/9: Mark had a point. The chart really was pretty sloppy.

That seems easy to say in retrospect now that we see the entire day's chart, but I feel like my idea behind it was valid. I took trades similar to this in the the past weeks and you actually complimented my entries.

It tapped the 43.77 area and failed. It bounced again at very low volume and failed again. I should've shorted there but I'm still in the habit of waiting until it breaks VWAP or MAs (a habit I'm trying to break).

What else am I missing?

I wasn't talking about the chart after you entered. From what the 5 min shows on Tradervue from 2:15 on the 19th to 1pm on the 20th the MA's cross roughly 4 or so times and the chart just looks sloppy to me. Didn't seem like a high probable setup to me.

Hmmm yeah you're right. I guess i never really considered how often price crosses the MAs during the day. I just saw the low-volume-bounce-and-fail. I'll consider that on my next shorts. Thanks brutha.

The only reason why i commented on that is that 99% of your trades before i even read your notes i can say, "yep, that's totally a long/short there, man he nailed it!" and i don't even have to think.

When this chart came up i literally thought, crap did he long, wait, no he shorted....no maybe a long cuz of daily...errrrr short cuz...AAAHHHHHH. I'm flipping a coin. That's when i think pass, lol!
