Holy crap... flash buyer for 200k shares! Suddenly the stock is 1 point out of the money and I panicked out. This single trade wiped out my gains for the day and the previous day. Part of my trading plan is not to panic on a spike and to hold for the pullback and re-assess for a better exit. I did not do that this time and in retrospect that would have been the better plan. I have only ever experienced a flash move like this 1 time before on RHT back in the summer of 2018 and that was on a reversal long play when the stock gapped down. This time, the stock was down trending and consolidating at a whole number... a play that I have done dozens of times before. I believe that my expectancy is still positive on trades like this though and there is no reason for me not to take them in the future. For example, I took a similar trade after this one on CRTP that worked beautifully.
LESSON: Don't panic on a spike!
