Initial Comment:

Today it was the inverse of what i normally do. Get long in front of resistance and get short at support of yeah almost forgot, don't have a proper plan, don't respect it and don't cut your loss. NICE! The perfect day.
Anyway jokes apart, i basically made what i just said above. I got caught up in the heat of the moment and i so a lot of printing on the ask and thought that this was going to make a biig big break out. That was my impression based on what i was seeing. Instead it made a big reverse and RIP me. Well that is because i didn't cut my loss when i said i was...

Proper Prep:

I watched the chart on various time frame, news, analyst ratings Numbers and guidance.
I so that 74 was support from the previous day and 73.80 longer term support. I'm saying this because i was expecting to fall into the open do to the down trend it formed into the premarket before the open, but after it tested the support, bounce and confirmed that it was heading up i would try to get in. When the time had come i was busy looking at other stocks( what i mean by that is the fact that i was watching 1 min one stock 30 sec another 40 sec another and so on) so i couldn't stay focus on one i just mess around and miss everything.

Hard Work:

I wasn't focused enough so i didn't study properly the tape levels that it was developing... So instead of hard work i would say messy work...

Patience:

Let's say that i was patient to wait for the trade to reach this resistance, but more alarming i was to much "patient" on letting this trade get against me....

Detailed Plan:

My plan was to catch the break out. STOP if 40c drop and exit at 75c if it slow down or near the hole number. If it fail right away after the breakout i was going to sell it no matter what price (of course in my stop loss range).

Discipline:

I wasn't disciplined because i didn't pull the trigger when i had to... And because of that mistake i lost a ton instead of just my stop loss...RIP

Contribution:

NON

Reviewing:

I don't blame this setup, neither anything else, just my self for:

  1. Not respecting my stop loss.
  2. Having trouble focusing
  3. Forcing my trades.
  4. Not having the mental agility to act.

Execution detail:

Date/time Symbol Side Price Position

2019-03-05 10:15:11 TGT sell $76.030 0
