Import Errors

If you encounter an error during the import process, Tradervue will try to provide you enough information to troubleshoot what may have gone wrong. If you get an import error, here are some things to check:

Check the instructions

The vast majority of import errors for specific brokers/platforms (e.g. anything other than the generic importer) are due to an accidental mistake following the import instructions for the particular broker/platform in question. Go back to the Import Trades page, select your broker, and carefully go through the instructions, making sure you follow every step.

Date formats

When you choose your broker/platform on the Import Trades page, be sure to select your time zone and/or date format if those options are provided. If you're using the Generic Import Format, refer to the supported date formats on the generic import format help page.

Check your input file

If you're importing a file, and you get a message about an error on a specific line, try opening the file in a text editor and going to that specific line. The problem may be obvious - for example, occasionally some brokers will export invalid data in the middle of a file, or there may be a typo if you're using the generic import format.
